Cute Kleenex Desktop Companion

These cute Kleenex tissues box is really adorable. Designed by Chris Yoon a student at Portfolio Center.

This project began with a thought to design packaging with designers in mind, so I started to brainstorm for everyday items that could be reimagined and eventually landed upon Kleenex. Since I’m including myself in the target audience, I started to think through how the packaging could be designed so that it would be something I would enjoy having on my desk. Beyond simply decorating a Kleenex box, I wanted to think through how the product (the tissues) could interact with the packaging once it was open, which eventually led to a typewriter loaded with paper, a whale spraying from his blowhole, a cottage emitting smoke, and any number of executions that fit that idea - Chris Yoon

History Of Flying Car

If you thought flying cars were the domain of sci fi movies or the reality-stretching James Bond films then you'd be surprised. The concept has been around since the early days of motoring, when intrepid aviators and auto pioneers envisioned a time when cars ruled the sky as they did the road. The fact that in 2011 we don't have a mass produced flying car is testament to the ill-fated efforts of some of those early innovators, but there is hope, thanks to twenty first century advances.

The first flying car, or roadable aircraft, came in 1917 via Wright Brothers rival Glenn Curtiss who having been beaten into the air by designing the three-wing Curtiss Autoplane. The vehicle could only hop, but spawned an engineering race that, despite modern successes, has yet to come of age.

It's designed and created by Tomislav Zvonaric of devianTom, in miniature form though.

Inside The New Adidas HQ In Germany

Designers of the German architectural studio Kinzo completed work on the design of the new headquarters of the brand Adidas, based in Hertsogenaurahe, Germany. The 1,700 staff members moved into an amazing new work space that features intertwining glass walkways made to mimic the laces of a sneaker. Berlin design company Kinzo set out to create something that would reflect adidas inside and out.

The “Teamplayer” space is at the heart of the new design, supporting desktops, storage and creating a multifunctional room that looks like it’s zoned into honeycombs. In other words, the Kinzo design team have created a space within a space. It lets separate teams have a specific section, but not be completely cut off from the other groups working inside the “Teamplayer.”

The entire furniture system is designed specifically to meet the needs of the team, and work together as a system, rather than functioning as just individual pieces. German furniture specialist Planmöbel partnered with Kinzo to create environmentally friendly, functional furniture sealed with a monolithic surface and a powder-coated finish.

Super conducive environment. No reason for lack of productivity.
