Neil Lane Designs Nicole Richie's Wedding Band

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden finally got married after YEARS of speculation this weekend in a sparkling winter-themed ceremony at Lionel Richie's Beverly Hills home. Did her 150 guests 'dance on the ceiling' in celebration? Details of the black-tie bash are few and far between, but here's what I know so far.

The Dress: Nicole reportedly spent a lot of time choosing the right gown, laboring between vintage Chanel and Marchesa (designer of the dress Richie wears above). Ultimately, Marchesa won the day not once, not twice but three times on the lady throughout the ceremony and reception, according to InStyle.com.

The Jewelry: Neil Lane designed Richie's 4-carat vintage-inspired engagement ring, so it's no surprise his handiwork was all over the wedding band design. No pictures or details have emerged yet - but stay tuned.

The Guest List: Paris Hilton wasn't invited, according to Styleist.com. But BFFs Khloe Kardashian and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz were on hand along with Gavin Rossdale, Gwen Stefani, and Samantha Ronson. Daughter Harlow was the flower girl, and Rev. Run from Run DMC officiated. So it's like that...

The Atmosphere: Winter is Richie's favorite season, so the formal affair was bedazzled accordingly. Which doesn't explain why an elephant was photographed entering the festivities. But what celebrity wedding would be complete without one these days? (click here for more).

All this Nicole Richie news reminds me that her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line is still going strong, with price points that are stocking-stuffer-friendly. Shop her collection on Pink Mascara here.

'Neil Lane Bridal' Tickles Tinseltown

Celebrity jeweler, Neil Lane, never met a Hollywood wedding he didn't bedazzle, so his client list is long and loaded with heavy hitters like Ellen Degeneres, Nicole Richie and the entire Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise.

Last Thursday, the designer celebrated his new, moderately priced bridal collection with Kay Jewelers at a Hollywood fete, and the red carpet was loaded with leading ladies.

The 'cutest couple' award goes to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who showed off their Neil Lane wedding bands.

Ashlee Simpson Wentz flashed her 4-carat Neil Lane engagement ring from rocker hubby, Pete Wentz, while confessing of her sister, Jessica, "She is happy, so we are all really happy."

Kristin Davis showed up in black and white diamonds, confessing to reporters that a 3rd SATC movie is 'unlikely'. (Ya think?)

And Eva Longoria Parker stunned in black Gustavo Cadile and loads of diamond ice.

I think the Neil Lane Bridal collection is the perfect way for humble grooms to give a celebrity twist to the bended knee ritual thanks to prices that are hundreds of thousands less than a typical Lane look.

Nicole Richie Wears Wedding Band?

Nicole Richie is a jewelry maven, with her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line hitting the big time and her signature boho chic style influencing fashionistas from coast to coast. But the former reality star is making news for jewelry of a different sort this week.

Richie has been spotted by X17 wearing what appears to be a gold wedding band on, well, the finger that tells the world that you're hitched. Despite denials from hubby, Joel Madden, to the contrary, Nicole seems to enjoy flaunting the ring finger bling and keeping us all guessing in the meantime.

What do you guys think? Did she and Joel run off shotgun style before their latest addition (a son named Sparrow) arrived? Or is she just having fun with the paps on this one?

Celebrity Jewelry Line Overload

From health care reform to rising unemployment and stimulus dough, there are a lot of issues out there for us all to ponder these days. But I’ve got one pressing question that’s been keeping me up nights.

How many friggin’ celebrity jewelry lines do we need, people?

I mean really. There are the success stories like Nicole Richie’s boho chic House of Harlow line and Paula Abdul’s HSN juggernaut. But do we really need D-listers like Christie Brinkley, Gladys Knight, New York Housewife, Kelly Bensimon and Heidi Montag’s sister joining the ranks?

Seriously.

Now news of singer, Lily Allen’s, new line is hitting the newswires and frankly? I could care less. You had me at Padma Lakshmi and jumped the shark at Tori Spelling, folks.

Do we really need the same old gold charm necklace you can get at any department store marked up an additional 40% because a singer with one big hit and a history of public drunkenness has her name on it?

I think I can live a full life never knowing or caring that Holly Montag gets to put her name on some gold chains simply because she ‘has always loved jewelry’, according to MTV. As if loving jewelry and having the same genetic makeup of a pathetic reality TV star are the only qualifications for for launching a bauble line.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe I’m being too harsh? I suppose there is room for everyone to peddle their wares out there. But I’m wondering if I’m the only one who has had my fill? What do you guys think?

Nicole Richie Launches Jewelry Line

A while back I shared with you that Nicole Richie was yet another star getting into the celebrity jewelry business by creating her own boho chic line, House of Harlow 1960. The good news is - the line is actually quite good.

This weekend, House of Harlow 1960 officially launched at the exclusive West Hollywood boutique, Kitson Melrose, and the famous mom-to-be was there to drum up the jewelry buzz.

“I am so excited to be launching House of Harlow 1960,” Nicole told JustJared.com at the event.

“This is a chance for me to personally thank the people who have supported the line and supported my dreams. I am so blessed and am so thankful everyday that all of my dreams are coming true.”

Currently expecting her second child with rocker, Joel Madden, the former “Simple Life” star greeted fans and posed for pictures while wearing her signature styles.

House of Harlow 1960 is named after Richie’s daughter and celebrates the period fashions of both the 60s and 70s. Think art deco meets bohemian chic.

Price points are reasonable, from $30 - $250 and the line is only available at Kitson storefronts and on their website.

I applaud you, Nicole, for going from an annoying Paris Hilton BFF to a brick house in the fashion world. Her jewels are 'mighty mighty' in my book.

What do you guys think of her line? Over the top or just the right celebrity statement?
